Most people are aware of other more famous museums in New York or Washington. However, since Corning is home to Corning Inc this museum of glass has really special collection. The museum showcases history of glass hall that displays various glass objects dating back 3500 years. There is industrial section where you can learn how glass is made as well as about different types of glass and its industrial applications.

Innovation center tells the story of glass development. There are many opportunities here to learn a lot and take rare industrial images. The giant glass egg suspended from the ceiling is actually a presentation room. Another cool object is a tower built out of many pyrex dishes. Part of the museum exhibition explains how bottles are made in industrial setting.

Corning Museum of Glass also has very educational and fun section that allows you to watch hot glass – how it is handled and made. You can participate in glass making classes and make your own glass workshops. Museum has cafeteria and an excellent store with really beautiful glass items to take home.
