Nice in Cote D’Azur hosts many great events during the year. Port Festival – Fete du Port is an annual festival that attracts many locals and visitors. This celebration is about fun for everyone.
Port Festival takes place around the Quartier du Port – 3 blocks around the seaport. The location is very close to the downtown area, and it is fairly easy to get there by walking from the famous Promenade des Anglais.
The Fete du Port offers live bands, local food and delicacies at the Chef’s Village, kids’ activities etc. Many local vendors give out free samples of their products, such as cheese, meats and even wine.
Nice port festival also entertains everyone with a parade. The parade is also fun for everyone. It includes incredible flag throwers, strolling musicians, very tall and fascinating characters on stints, colorful floats, magicians and clowns.
The harbour is full of fishing boats and fishermen decorate some of the boats with flowers and parade around the port.
The City of Nice has a webpage about this festival – Fete du Port. The following festival info will be updated there as there was a break due to the pandemic. The expectation is that the date will most likely be set for early June. The festival is free and starts at 4 pm and runs until midnight. Fireworks are displayed around 10:30 pm.
